My name is Tori Connor, I graduated from the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute of Structural Integration in the summer of 2022. I was born into a third-generation commercial fishing family out of Alaska, fishing has been my passion and career since I was 16 years old. I first found myself at the front step of a Rolfers’® door, in the spring of 2021. After experiencing, yet another injury, in a long string of job-related accidents. I was left, nearly, out of commission for almost 2 years. Taking me from being at the top of my career, to living and working each day in excruciating pain. I went to a Rolfer® out of desperation to try to get my body, in enough of a working condition, to finish the demanding fishing season I was about to take on. Never having heard of structural integration, I had no idea what to expect, and never would have thought it would change my life. After years of treatment from a variety of different doctors and modalities, reaching only a bitter-sweet and very fragile 70% of per-injury recovery. It took me just 10 sessions, over a 6-week time period, to get me into the home stretch of recovery. Setting me on a path to help others, who like me may have lost hope in ever living a pain free life again.

I am 33 years old with a beautiful baby boy, and a husband I adore. I spend my summers fishing and Rolfing® in Alaska and the rest of the time traveling between Texas and Arizona. My dream is to bring Rolfing® to as many people as I can. People who have succumbed to the idea, they must live with their pain. I want to watch a new lust for life come, when their bodies find a more cohesive place with gravity. I love to travel, both foreign and domestic. Spending my free time with family, friends and among nature as much as possible.
To bring Rolfing® to the laborer, to the person who uses their body as a tool, who needs a “well-oiled piece of machinery” to get the job. These are the people whom I want to seek out, because I was you once. As much as it is true our bodies need to be “well oiled” so to speak, letting the layers of fascia and muscle slide-and-glide, across-and-around each other. Unlike machinery where it’s intended to be used for a job and put away when finished. Our incredible bodies that we often use like machines, are so meticulously designed they are more than just the tool for ‘the’ task, but the tool for every task. It is essential as laborers; whether it’s typing at a computer, working the fields, or building roads and buildings. We must create a relationship with our bodies, giving them the adaptability to not just preform, but to excel as effortlessly as possible, through all things we ask of it.
